I am an engineering executive with more than 30 years of experience across the e-Commerce, healthcare technology, EdTech, and cloud-based software industries. I bring perspective from large enterprise companies such as Amazon, which I joined during its hypergrowth phase, as well as start-ups as the founding CTO of Vireo Labs, where I took a cloud-native SaaS product from zero to launch.
At Amazon, I spent more than 12 years scaling global systems that processed millions of transactions daily. I later built and led a 50-person organization with a budget of more than $5 million as Vice President of R&D at Harris Affinity. At Public Partnerships, I directed engineering for a Medicaid platform serving more than one million daily users. And as the Director of Engineering at the nonprofit tech company GoodUnited, I led a global team and facilitated over $1B in donations. These experiences taught me how to build capable teams and dependable systems in high-stakes environments.
As a coach, I partner with leaders navigating greater responsibility, changing expectations, and the shift from solving every problem themselves to enabling others to succeed. My approach is supportive, inquisitive, and even-keeled, and I challenge clients to question familiar patterns and consider new possibilities.
Clients leave with a clearer understanding of the leader their team needs and practical ways to strengthen accountability, develop their managers, and improve execution. My goal is to help them build teams and systems that solve problems effectively without depending on them for every answer.
Outside of work, I live in South Carolina, and enjoy cooking, dining out, and playing the French horn in orchestras when time allows. I also know far more than I ever expected about the equestrian world after supporting one of my sons in his national competitions.
