I'm a Director of Engineering with close to 30 years of experience working in and leading engineering and product teams at Amazon and a fintech scale-up. My career has been defined by building from scratch at companies operating at massive scale and in highly regulated environments. I bring deep expertise in e-commerce, financial technology, and compliance-driven product development, and I've spent my career turning complex technical challenges into world-class customer experiences.
At Amazon, I spent 20 years building experiences for tens of millions of e-commerce customers and Kindle readers including development for e-ink devices, mobile apps, web, desktop, and scalable backend services. I was the third person to join the Kindle Madrid Development Center, leading the hiring of over 200 people from more than 40 countries in 18 months and eventually serving as site leader. As Director of Engineering at Teya, a European fintech scale-up, I built a new development center in Spain from the ground up. I led engineering across e-commerce, machine learning-based financial crime detection, and compliance in a regulated industry, and introduced AI and LLM review into the onboarding process, cutting average customer onboarding time from four days to under one.
As a coach, I work with leaders who want to scale their impact and build high-performing organizations where everyone can do their best work. I lead with calm, patient listening and deep curiosity, and I'm always looking for opportunities to think big when appropriate.
Clients say I help them discover new mental models and ways of operating that they can apply to achieve both their professional and personal goals.
When I'm not coaching, I'm cheering on my three kids in everything they're up to, picking up a good book, or planning the next adventure — I've traveled to over 40 countries and always have somewhere new on the list. A former musician turned engineering leader, I've called Madrid home for several years now, and life abroad continues to shape how I think about building, adapting, and what's possible.
