Product Leadership Coach

Former VP, Early Stage Ventures, Automattic

About

With a career spanning hands-on work in AI applications and on-the-ground development of social enterprises in emerging markets to leadership roles in tech giants like Facebook and Automattic, I have long been passionate about applying technology to drive positive change. I also have been a huge proponent and supporter of people undergoing journeys of self-discovery and growth. I became a coach to assist people on such journeys, particularly those who are driven in their desire to build a better world. I started my career as a software engineer at Apple and Rockwell AI Lab, developing new technology and translating AI research into real-world applications. After getting an MBA in Sustainable Enterprise, I led SC Johnson, Duport, Ascension Health and other companies in launching sustainability-focused ventures in Kenya, India, Ghana and the U.S. Then it was working on several startups (including my own) and breaking ground on new developer-focused products at Facebook as a strategic product and partnerships lead.

Most recently, I was the VP, Head of Early Stage Ventures at Automattic, where I directed multiple product teams, including Pocket Casts—a beloved multi-platform podcasting client—and P2—a WordPress-based collaboration platform. Additionally, I directed the Product, Platform and Business teams for Jetpack, where I built a new developer-focused strategy and managed partnerships and products that drove a majority of the division’s revenue. Lastly, I served as Director of Product and Corporate Development for WordPress.com, overseeing the creation of new products tailored to the extensive WordPress developer community.

Outside of work and coaching, I am a passionate baker of bread (never enough) and a perpetually eternal beginner guitarist. I love camping, hiking, cooking Vietnamese food, gaming of all types and reading lots of web fiction.
