I help executive leaders working in high growth or emerging companies make sense of the inherent opportunities, contradictions and challenges they face without breaking themselves or others.

I’m a seasoned CEO, Founder, COO and Board Member that has successfully led organizations ranging from startups to organizations as large as $5B in annual revenue with global reach (and everything in between). I’m experientially fluent in the challenges and opportunities associated with roles in nearly every functional area and level of an organization.

My experience includes leading the creation and development of the world’s largest franchisor of swim schools for children (youth enrichment services), Streamline Brands, to three different Private Equity partnerships (Roark Capital, Quad Partners and Guideboat Capital) and an eventual large scale exit as the Founder and CEO. At exit we had 300 franchised locations and over $300M in system-wide sales. I was also responsible for leading the growth of Hewlett-Packard’s Media and Entertainment business vertical from $100M to over $2B in global revenue as the EVP and General Manager. Also a $2B organization, I led Technicolor's business in the United States from Hollywood, CA and I have led the creation of multiple private investment funds in Software, Real Estate, Renewable Energy, and Agriculture.

Above all else, I'm most proud of my relationships with the people and teams that have worked with me along the way.

My educational depth is in finance and engineering, with both an MBA and an MS. This makes me a person that biases towards a business process oriented approach to leadership and coaching. Those that know me the best consider me to be a visionary and creative leader that builds unusually happy and loyal teams and business relationships.

As a retiree, I focus my time on coaching and investing in new business concepts. I also enjoy spending time with my adult daughters and wife (also retired), and focusing on personal passions like flying jet airplanes, playing pickleball, playing golf (I carry a scratch handicap), fly fishing, and hunting with my dogs at my upland bird lodge in South Dakota.
