I'm a former Google Engineering Director with 31 years of experience in the technology industry. My career has spanned engineering leadership, product management, and principal engineering roles at Google, YouTube, and Nuance Communications. I hold an M.S. in Computer Science and have spent my career helping teams cross the chasm from early-stage adoption to sustainable, large-scale growth.
My track record is built on scaling organizations through their hardest inflection points. I co-founded the Google Search privacy and security team and scaled it to 100 people. At YouTube, I helped grow daily live streams tenfold to over 700,000. At Nuance Communications, I led large-scale infrastructure rewrites and steered the integration of duplicative software products into industry-leading suites. The throughline across all of it: the hardest part of growth is human, not technical. My experience is grounded in high-growth environments where ambiguity is constant and technical rigor is non-negotiable.
As a coach, I partner with leaders who are scaling their teams and their impact, whether navigating organizational complexity, technical strategy, or the mindset shifts that come with growing scope. My style is one of calm, high-support partnership. I challenge assumptions directly to reveal blind spots, but I always seek permission first. I'm known for quickly understanding complex technical environments and helping leaders move past what's blocking them to focus on what truly matters.
Clients say I make the messy work of blended technical and organizational leadership feel manageable. They leave with clarity on their immediate obstacles and the confidence to handle the next stage, including how to develop their own leaders so they're not carrying the full weight themselves.
When I’m not coaching, you’ll likely find me in the kitchen with my cookbook collection or engaging with the arts—from museum visits to my latest project in a weaving class. I love learning firsthand how AI is transforming the creative experience, a passion that parallels my work helping leaders adapt to new paradigms. I look forward to connecting with you!
