I'm a strategy and operations, and go-to-market C-Suite executive leader with more than three decades of experience across marketplace, consumer tech, EdTech and transportation companies, from early stage start-ups, through high-growth, to established category leaders. I have managed teams from 6 to 600 employees, and advised or operated at companies ranging from pre-revenue startups to multibillion-dollar public entities. I have seen the unique challenges leaders face at every one of these levels, and what the patterns of success and failure look like at each.
As VP and North America GM at eBay, I owned a $3B P&L and the company's full operational stack across 600 employees, and revamped its entire monetization model to accelerate growth in both revenue and GMV while increasing customer satisfaction by 30% by launching a suite of trust and safety initiatives. At Lyft, as VP of Supply, I grew the platform's driver base by over 2.5x and scaled vehicle programs from scratch, building momentum for the company's eventual IPO. I also served as a C-level executive at three different early-stage startups, taking ideas from zero to one, finding product-market fit, raising early capital, and scaling operations - including guiding one company from idea stage to its Series A as COO and growing top line revenue 2x as CRO of another. Earlier in my career, I brought structured problem-solving to growth challenges as a strategy consultant at Accenture and in-house at HP. Recently I have been spending time advising more than 25 startups and founders as an LP and Advisor/Mentor at Berkeley SkyDeck.
A few years ago, I stepped back from full-time operating roles to focus on what has consistently given me the most satisfaction over my career: helping others succeed. Today, I bring that same operator drive to helping you be your best.
I partner with emerging and experienced leaders who find themselves in uncharted territory or highly complex situations, helping them maximize their situational awareness and minimize their blind spots. My approach coaches the whole individual, working toward greater clarity, conviction, effectiveness, and purpose in both their professional and personal lives.
I coach with honesty and directness, mixed with a healthy dose of empathy and humor. Personal growth is hard work, but that doesn't mean it can't be fun.
Outside of coaching, I'm a father of three, an avid cyclist, golfer, and amateur musician. I'm also a voracious reader and something of a data junkie, and nothing makes me happier than making real connections with people and helping them succeed at whatever they choose to pursue. I welcome the opportunity to work with you.
